Our Brides: Colleen Peabody

Colleen and Michael had their beautiful wedding in the Old St Patrick’s Church in Chicago. A chance bridal appointment, while on holiday in Ireland, found Colleen falling in love with the very first dress she tried on!

We caught up with Colleen after her wedding to ask about her wedding planning and wedding day.

Tell us about your wedding proposal:

Michael proposed while we were on vacation, visiting my family in Southern California. He proposed during a trip to Catalina Island, overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

Where did you have your wedding?

Old St. Patrick’s Church in Chicago, followed by a reception at the Chicago Athletic Association Hotel. Both are historic buildings, built before 1900.

What was the best part about wedding planning?

Buying my dress from Belladonna, in Galway, while on a family vacation with my mother and aunt. We are of Irish heritage, so it was very special to bring back my dress from Ireland.

Tell us about your wedding dress shopping experience with Belladonna:

Wonderful!

Tina is a Fairy Godmother! I choose the first dress she picked for me, and she arranged everything to get it back to the States.

Are there any special stand out moments from your wedding day?

The first look with my husband, Michael. I also added a lace panel to the front of my dress from my mother’s wedding dress.

What advice would you give to couples planning their wedding?

Don’t over think it. If it feels right to you, it’s perfect!

We wish Colleen and Michael a lifetime of happiness together ❤️

Colleen wore Adrienne by Pronovias.
